March 27th , the 2026 Annual Conference of the Asia Pacific Humanitarian Emergency Rescue Organization (APHERO) was successfully held in Hong Kong. Strictly abiding by APHERO's articles of association, this conference was based on the new situation of humanitarian rescue development in the Asia Pacific region, deeply integrated the organization's mission, vision and values, focused on the optimization and upgrading of core work items, and took the initiative to adapt to the development trend of global non-profit organizations of "from survival to reconstruction" in 2026, further consolidating the foundation for the organization's development, improving the efficiency of humanitarian rescue services, and demonstrating APHERO's responsibility as a professional humanitarian rescue organization in the Asia Pacific region.
As a co-founder of APHERO, the China Association for Disaster Prevention (CADP)attaches great importance to this conference and specially dispatched representatives: Mr Zhang Guoyuan, Deputy-Secretary General of CADP to Hong Kong to provide full guidance. It gave full play to its rich experience in disaster monitoring, risk assessment and community education, provided professional support and direction guidance for the standardized development of APHERO, and helped APHERO better fulfill its humanitarian mission and build a more resilient Asia Pacific humanitarian rescue system.
The conference conducted in-depth discussions on key issues related to the organization's development, focused on absorbing the achievements of the 2025 Macao Asia Pacific Humanitarian International Forum, and incorporated the concept of "Overseas Emergency Rescue Suppy hub" proposed by Mr. Qi Luyan, initiator of APHERO and President of the Macao Branch of China Asia Pacific Security Association, into the future plan. Combined with industry trends, the conference clarified the development direction: focusing on protecting life safety, strengthening core businesses such as emergency rescue based on this concept, deepening multi-party cooperation, and improving the response and guarantee capacity of humanitarian rescue in the Asia Pacific region.
Taking this conference as an opportunity, APHERO will rely on the advantages of Hong Kong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, integrate high-quality resources, improve the professionalization and internationalization level of humanitarian rescue, and contribute to disaster prevention and control and people's well-being in the Asia Pacific region.
APHERO will abide by relevant policies and the organization's articles of association, absorb the achievements of the conference, adapt to industry trends, strengthen cross-regional cooperation, enhance credibility and international influence, and jointly build an Asia Pacific humanitarian rescue community.
