After a strong earthquake struck the central region of Myanmar, the Asia Pacific Humanitarian Emergency Rescue Organization -APHERO- quickly activated its emergency response mechanism.
On March 31st, the first batch of rescue supplies arrived at the disaster area through the channel of the Consulate General of Myanmar in Kunming, including outdoor emergency aluminum foil tents, solar charging lights, and epidemic prevention medical kits, effectively ensuring emergency shelter and basic medical support for disaster victims.
On April 2nd, the Asia Pacific Rescue Organization provided emergency living assistance funds to affected children and families through a special channel established by World Vision Hong Kong, with a focus on supporting the basic living needs of women and children.
According to the spokesperson of the organization, this rescue operation strictly follows the principle of "demand-oriented and precise delivery", and the material allocation takes into account practical challenges such as the large temperature difference between day and night in the earthquake stricken area, power outages, and epidemic prevention and control. The organization will continue to monitor the development of the disaster situation and collaborate with multiple forces to do a good job in preventing secondary disasters.
